About the event

Sh'ma follows a close-knit community through struggle and survival during the Holocaust. Sh'ma focuses on director Suki John's mother as she journeys from school days to the Jewish ghetto, deportation to concentration camp, refugee to American citizen. Originally a live choreodrama performed in the former Yugoslavia and New York City, Sh'ma is now presented as a powerful dance film. Produced with 4 cameras, 15 extraordinary performers, original music and design, Sh’ma highlights resilience, connection, and hope.

Join us for this red carpet event featuring the full-length screening of the film Sh'ma at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on Sunday, March 5, 2023. The audience will be filled with Sh'ma cast and crew members, the Sh'ma artistic team, Sh'ma sponsors, Modern members, as well as patrons of our community.

Guests are invited to arrive starting at 6:00 pm. Seating is limited and reservations are required. The auditorium doors will open at 6:30 pm, and the film will begin at 7:00 pm. Expected run time is 1 hour. Following the film, all guests are invited to join a Q&A.
